Casper, or Noble Casper as he was called by the Meiresonne family, was a very special pony. From 1996 to 2004, he took part in nine consecutive European Cups with four different riders.

In 1996, he was in the Netherlands silver team with Muis Schreuder at the European Cup in Barthahus/DEN.

In 1997, he was trained by Belgian Delphine Meiresonne, who led him to gold in the Belgian Cup and eleventh place at the European Cup in Hartpury, England. Then, thanks to intensive preparation by Olympic runner-up Coby van Baalen/NED, the pair enjoyed their finest moment in 1998 - individual gold at the European Cup in Le Toquet/FRA.

From June 2000 on Casper was more with me in Luxembourg. We had the same age then:  was twelve and I was twelve. But before we started off, we made him available to Anni Rossy who competed in the European Cup with him in Hagen/GER. My time came in 2001 with my first international championship – the European Cup in Jerez de la Frontera/ESP.

Between 2001 and 2004, we competed four times in European Championships, reaching the final three times and registering ourselves in the results list with two eighth places and an eleventh.

Our other results were also respectable. We were able to qualify for international tournaments on 23 occasions, won 26 rosettes in “M” dressage and even three in the “S” Class – all that while  competing against professional horses and riders.

Casper, my wonderful four-legged mentor, has been enjoying retirement since 2007.
