Véronique Henschen

It was always my dream to pursue my love for horses and the joy of riding in a perfect environment. This dream has now come true thanks to HORSES DELUX.

In 1993, at the age of five, I took my first riding lesson. In 1998, I was given a Penucha, a Welsh pony mare with a height of 1.33 metres. We trained hard together at the C.E.L. equestrian club in Reckenthal/LUX and won our first rosette in “E” and “A” dressage trials. In 1999 I participated in the Luxembourg dressage championships and won the bronze medal straightaway.

The following year I was called up into the youth squad by the F.L.S.E., the Equestrian Association of Luxembourg. On the advice of squad trainer Michael Fassbender, we started  to look out for a suitable pony – and finally found Casper. He, like Penucha, was a Welsh pony. And a great one on  top! In 2000, our first season together, we won bronze at the Luxembourg Championships and, the year after, we placed eleventh at the European Championships in Jerez de la Frontera/ESP. We also competed in the European Championships in Hagen (2002), Newcarne Castle/IRL (2003) and Jaszkowo/POL (2004), and qualified twice for the A final and once for the B final.

To switch from ponies up to horses was effortless, thanks mainly to Wyoming with whom I placed sixth on my debut in the Juniors category at the 2005 European Championships in Barzago/ITA. Fourth position was added in 2006, on Fontalero at the European Championships in Stadl-Paura/AUT. I subsequently made a successful debut on the minor international tour, received the Golden Riding Insignia, defended my regional title a number of times and competed in three more European Youth Championships.

Besides riding, I am currently completing a business studies course in Saarbrücken. My sporting ambition? Transitioning up into the Grand Prix Class above U25.  With the help of my trainer Bertin Pötter I already was able to succeed.

2013 we competed at our first European Championships for Seniors and we were placed at a fantastic 36 place.

2014 we then made it to the World Championships in Normandy/France.
